Within the Urban Miscellany gallery here on my site are a series of 5 images titled Soaring Panels (these above).
What are these, you ask?
Well, if you've ever been to Seattle - and if you haven't, I highly recommend it as it's a stunning place - you no doubt have visited the Space Needle and the adjoining Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) formally known, when I was there in 2005, as the Experience Music Project; the metal building with no square corners. Adjacent to the MoPOP, there is, of course, a parking lot.
However, planners created a park as part of this arrangement and commissioned art for said park. In this case John Fleming and Susan Zoccola designed and installed a screen wall made from industrial materials that reached approximately 30' into the sky. They're titled Grass Blades.
Below are a couple of images from the artists that show Grass Blades in their natural habitat.

Using those as the base, I then applied my photographic styling; distorting, moving elements, colorizing to ultimately wind up with my first interpretation of the piece as seen here in this series of three (still available as limited editions):
And, to show you how my art can evolve, here's a second version of the Soaring Panels that derived from new inspiration - and a great opportunity. This series of five ultimately hung for many years in a prominent Tampa restaurant (unfortunately, the restaurant recently closed). These are also available if you really like them. Just let me know.
